Hello, I’m Julie
I write about healthcare and medical issues for a variety of titles, including leading national magazines, specialist journals and digital sites. I’ve been writing about health journalism for more than 17 years now, and I still love what I do.
Adept interviewer
My expertise lies in taking on a health topic, and really understanding what the target audience needs, and wants to know. With this skill, I can ask the right questions when I speak to experts such as GPs, researchers and scientists, consultant surgeons and dietitians.
I’m also able to write about complex clinical topics, and distil those key need-to-knows into reader-friendly copy.
What else? I’ve been a finalist in three national health and medical journalism awards. This was for articles I’ve written on the care worker crisis, living with IBD, and migraine-related rebound headaches.
I’m also a member of the Guild of Health Writers, Medical Journalists’ Association, National Union of Journalists and Women in Journalism.
Keen to chat? Great stuff, see below for details on how to say hello.
Great ideas and clean copy
“Julie is a regular contributor to Medscape UK, pitching great ideas that explore topical areas of medicine. Her regular updates on progress, and her reliable production of clean copy, are hallmarks of her journalism. I would happily recommend commissioning Julie for creating health and medical content.”
